Junior Underwriter Position

Full time $39k – $42k base + per deal comp and bonus structure

Hamilton, ON in office position

I am looking for a motivated individual that is actively in the Mortgage Industry, loves the job but doesn’t want to be self sourcing their business anymore. They want to be part of the day to day activity with clients, but from behind the scenes doing what they love best, underwriting and helping clients ! More specifically, this is for someone that is confident, personable and, most importantly, empathetic with an innate ability to put themselves into the customer’s shoes.

This is a new position for my company, which is an exciting time of growth and expansion. Together, we can learn and work side by side to increase productivity and help more clients ! The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years experience as a Mortgage Agent and currently funds 10 – 15 deals a year on their own or they have been working in the banking industry in a sales roles for at least 5 years, and now would like a change and be part of an established team, rather out on their own.

Here is what the Job entails …

Your top priorities would be to:

  • Underwriting applications for all new client applications
  • Working with the application until approval is secured
  • Execute strategically planned touch points and follow-ups with our existing customer database
  • Uncover client needs and opportunities within the existing customer database
  • Make the customers feel welcomed and cared for as they experience the same level of comfort and ease, no matter who they are dealing with in the office
  • Meet with clients to sign document packages, when I’m unavailable or at peak times of overflow
